Waffles

INGREDIENTS

  • 3 cups freshly milled flour mill about 2 cups of wheat berries to produce about 3 cups of flour (I use half soft white wheat and 1/2 spelt)

  • 2 1/2 tsp salt

  • 1 tsp baking soda

  • 2 1/2 tsp baking powder

  • 1/2 cup mild oil (I use avocado oil)

  • 3 cups cultured buttermilk (you can also use 3 tbsp white vinegar or lemon juice added to regular milk to make your own version of buttermilk)

  • 3 eggs large

INSTRUCTIONS

 

  • Preheat waffle maker 

  • Mill your wheat into fine flour

  • Combine flour, salt, baking soda, and baking powder and mix together and set aside

  • In a separate bowl, mix eggs, oil, and buttermilk

  • Slowly add your wet ingredients to your dry ingredients, mixing until thoroughly combined

  • Using whatever measurement your waffle maker states to use, scoop batter onto waffle maker and cook per manufacturer instructions to your desired "done" level. 

  • Remove when done and ENJOY!
